Massage Therapist

After a long career in special needs and education, eventually becoming an Assistant Head Teacher and special educational needs coordinator (SENCO), I realised that I needed to revitalise myself and my life.  Having trained in massage over 20 years ago and never lost the bug, I plucked up the courage, refreshed and retrained in  Raynor Deep Tissue Naturopathic Massage with Dave Taylor in Hastings.

Massage in the UK has traditionally been seen through the lens of relaxation and beauty - and why not!  Once I had re-caught the massage bug with Dave, I decided to broaden my skills by studying for the ITEC in Holistic (Swedish) Massage, ITEC Sports Massage, Brazilian MLD (pre and post op), Indian Head Massage, Chair Massage, Reiki and Beauty Facials ensuring that my clients are able to choose from a broad range of treatments to best suit their needs.  Touch Positive was born - aa brand name that I feel accurately describes me and my approach to my work in the field of massage!

As this was all happening, I also realised that, while the benefits of massage in pregnancy and for babies are well known and well provided for, massage for older children and teenagers is uncommon - even though multiple academic studies demonstrate how effective massage can be.  I have never lost my passion for supporting children, particularly children and teens with special educational needs and/or high anxiety..  I trained in baby massage, baby yoga, tummy time, paediatric massage, massage for the growing child and with Guiliana Wheater and her Rainbow Kids, I also trained in Indian Head Massage for ASD (Autism) and Special Educational Needs.  I run classes for new parents at the Humble Hub in St Leonards and at the Quaker Meeting House in Hastings.  I am delighted to welcome accompanied children for appointments and benefit from the power of touch.  as well as offering outreach consultancy for new parents within a 10 mile radius of Hastings.
